We recognize the historical importance of birth support for Indigenous and non-indigenous birthers. As an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside and work on, we acknowledge the land and ancestral territories of the Indigenous peoples of the Treaty 7 region and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. We respect the histories, languages, and cultures of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit of Canada, whose presence continues to enrich our communities.
We’re grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders still with us today and those who have preceded us. We recognize our shared responsibilities going forward to help bring everyone together on this journey of Truth and Reconciliation.
